Rochester, Michigan – June 24, 2024 – The American Basketball Hall of Fame Foundation (ABHOFF) proudly announces its 6th annual induction ceremony, honoring 21 legends of the game, including NBA icons Larry Bird, Dave Bing, Campy Russell, Rick Mahorn, Brad Sellers, and Michigan State University All-American Mateen Cleaves. Also among the other honorees are former WNBA standout Semeka Randall, and esteemed coaches Bob Huggins, Kevin Mackey, Ed McCluskey, and LeBron James’s high school coach Dru Joyce II, and others.
“The goal of the ABHOFF is to preserve the rich history of basketball and provide a platform for players and coaches to receive the recognition they deserve,” said LaMont “ShowBoat” Robinson, 2019 inductee and founder of the ABHOFF. “We are also excited about ongoing discussions with the former basketball practice complex of the Detroit Pistons to potentially serve as our permanent home.”
The induction ceremony promises to be a memorable event, celebrating the achievements and contributions of these basketball legends. It will include tributes, speeches, and special presentations highlighting the impact of each inductee on the sport.
Founded in 2019, the ABHOFF has enshrined over 125 inductees who have made significant contributions to the sport of basketball. This year’s ceremony will take place at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Doors will open at 2:30 PM, and tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased online at www.basketbllhof.org or at the door.
