Miriam Adelson, casino mogul and primary owner of the Dallas Mavericks, donated $1 million to the Truth and Courage PAC, which supports the reelection of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, as reported in its monthly campaign finance filing on Thursday.
Adelson, a Tel Aviv-born physician and widow of Sheldon Adelson, recently gained a controlling stake in the Mavericks. She is the largest shareholder of Las Vegas Sands, one of the world’s top casino operators. According to Bloomberg’s billionaire index, she has a net worth of $33.8 billion, placing her among the top 50 richest people globally.
