Chennedy Carter, who earned WNBA villain status after her hip-check of Caitlin Clark on Saturday, once tried to fight a teammate.

In a 2021 game between Carter’s Atlanta Dream and the Las Vegas Aces, teammate Courtney Williams told Carter to improve her attitude, leading to an argument.

Carter stayed in the locker room for the second half and later approached Williams, who rebuffed her. Carter then expressed a desire to fight Williams, but Williams removed herself from the situation, preventing a physical altercation.

The Dream suspended Carter for conduct detrimental to the team.
