Minnesota Timberwolves’ star Anthony Edwards predicts teammate Karl-Anthony Towns to shine as the series MVP against the Phoenix Suns.

Edwards believes Towns will thrive in the playoffs, benefiting from defensive attention diverted towards him.

“I see KAT being the MVP of the series if we win it,” Edwards said, per Dane Moore. “Because, like I said, they’re gonna put two and three on me, and he’s the best player on the team. So they gonna two and three on me, you leave the best player on the team 1 on 1. I think that’s something we live for. And yeah, he takes the responsibility on defense, and if he does a great job, then we’ll come out on top.”

Edwards averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 35.1 minutes per game during the regular season, while Towns also contributed significantly, averaging 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3 assists in 32.7 minutes per game. Both players were named to the All-Star Game this season.

Interestingly, the Suns swept the Timberwolves 3-0 during the regular season.
