Dejounte Murray’s remarkable 44-point outing led the Atlanta Hawks to a thrilling overtime victory against the league-leading Boston Celtics, with Murray taking an astonishing 44 shots during the game.

Despite his extraordinary scoring display, Murray remained humble, acknowledging that he still felt he played poorly despite his impressive numbers.

Reflecting on his high shot volume, Murray drew inspiration from the late Kobe Bryant, suggesting that the basketball icon would be proud of his aggressive approach on the court.

“It’s the NBA. That’s the best team in the league. We competed. We didn’t use being tired or anything, back-to-back as an excuse. We came out and competed,” Murray said after the game.

“These are the games I want to be a part of. I still feel like I played awful. I don’t wanna take that many shots, but I know Kobe would be proud of me. But at the end of the way we competed at a high level to the end and we got a great team win.”
