Following Germany’s victory in the 2023 World Cup, Dennis Schroder is set to represent his country at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He even aspires to lead the German team as the flag bearer during the opening ceremony.

Despite acknowledging the formidable competition that includes NBA stars like LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant, Schroder remains optimistic about Germany’s chances.

He views carrying the flag as a tremendous honor and opportunity, especially considering Germany’s recent basketball achievements. Schroder also expressed his earnest desire for all twelve players on the team to share in the privilege of carrying the flag.

“In Paris, they will be with LeBron James, Steph Curry, Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler and other superstars. It will be difficult, but nothing is impossible, and we have a chance,” Schroder said.

“It would be crazy, it’s the biggest thing and the greatest consideration that Germany can give me. If not now for a basketball player, when will it be the case again? We have won the World Cup. I would like all twelve players to carry the flag; I am completely serious.”
