Two-time NBA champion Norris Cole recently shared insights on the toughest opponent he faced during his career, singling out Derrick Rose as his greatest challenge.
In a candid interview on the Run Your Race podcast, Cole reminisced about the daunting task of defending Rose, the electrifying point guard who claimed the league’s MVP award in 2011.
“D-Rose was the toughest guy [I had to guard]. Your favorite point guards of today had no chance against Derrick Rose. No offense but [Kyrie Irving], Steph [Curry] and them [had] no chance against that guy,” Cole said, via ClutchPoints.
Rose averaged career-high 25 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 37.4 minutes per game during his MVP year as he helped the Chicago Bulls reach the Eastern Conference Finals where they lost in five games to the Miami Heat’s Big 3 with Cole on the team as well.
