The Houston Rockets (29-35) stunned the Sacramento Kings (36-27) with a resilient 112-104 win on Sunday night, despite losing leading-scorer Alperen Sengun to a right knee and ankle injury.

Fred VanVleet led the charge for the Rockets with 22 points, while Jalen Green contributed 19. Sengun recorded 14 points and six rebounds before exiting the game after 29 minutes of play.

Sengun’s injury cast a shadow over the game, with the young star leaving the court in a wheelchair after landing awkwardly while challenging a shot by the Kings’ Domantas Sabonis.

With seven players finishing in double figures, the Rockets displayed their balanced scoring attack.

Sacramento, led by Sabonis’ 25 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists, struggled to contain Houston’s offensive firepower, ultimately falling short in their bid to secure a crucial win in the tightly packed Western Conference standings.

Malik Monk contributed significantly for the Kings off bench by scoring 20 points. De’Aaron Fox added 18 points on 7-of-21 shooting.
