Daryl Morey, the President of Basketball Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, reached out to the Los Angeles Lakers inquiring about the availability of LeBron James via trade.

This move came after James posted a cryptic hourglass emoji on social media leading up to the trade deadline. When the Lakers inquired about Joel Embiid’s availability, Morey shifted his focus to the Phoenix Suns.

The Sixers initially asked about Kevin Durant before exploring the possibility of acquiring Devin Booker or Bradley Beal.

Morey is renowned for aggressively pursuing star players via trade, and his actions at the deadline may offer insights into the team’s offseason plans.

The 76ers are expected to have a substantial cap space of $40 to $60 million, providing opportunities to make significant moves in the upcoming offseason, potentially adding another star alongside Embiid and re-signing Tyrese Maxey.
