During the Warriors’ triumph over the Suns on Saturday, tensions flared between Jusuf Nurkic and Draymond Green. The two players engaged in verbal taunts throughout the game, altering Nurkic’s perception of Green from before the heated exchanges.

“It’s sad. He didn’t learn anything. Just a matter of time. He’s going to hit somebody else again. Take back everything I said. He don’t deserve a chance,” Nurkic said about Green.

Nurkic initially came to Green’s defense following an incident in mid-November when the Warriors’ star accidentally struck him in the face. At that time, Nurkic expressed the belief that it wasn’t intentional and advocated for Green to have an opportunity to regain favor with the league.

Steph Curry said about Nurkic that “Draymond was in his head. Plain and simple.”

Green was more direct and critical in expressing his disapproval of Nurkic.

“I knew his goal was to get me out of the game,” Green said about Nurkic. “No one wants to see in me in the game. That makes the game a lot tougher. But it’d take a pretty good ‘ish’ talker to get me to do that. That’s just too obvious. It’s OK. It was a fun game.”
