Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone shared candid insights about forward Christian Braun in before the game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Expressing a belief in Braun’s untapped potential, Malone admitted, “I know he’s a better player than he has shown, and that’s not just on Christian Braun. That’s on me as a head coach finding ways to get him going,” as reported by Ryan Blackburn.

“I’m not looking at your stats, your three-point percentage. I’m looking at you. You’re an intangible guy. Your energy, your aggression, your physicality, your discipline, all have to be off the charts for us every single night,” Malone said.

Acknowledging Braun’s no-nonsense attitude, Malone praised, “What you love about Christian Braun is he’s a No BS, no excuse type of a person…the first thing he’s going to tell you is ‘I have to be better.'”

The seasoned coach took responsibility, stating, “It’s on me to find ways to give him more confidence and allow him to go out there and play his game.”

Braun, now in his sophomore season, has posted averages of 7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 18.8 minutes per game, leaving room for growth under Malone’s guidance.
