Tyrese Maxey erupted for a career-high 51 points, securing a thrilling 127-124 victory for the Philadelphia 76ers (30-17) against the Utah Jazz (24-26).

The absence of Joel Embiid, sidelined with an injured lateral meniscus, didn’t hinder the Sixers as Maxey’s extraordinary performance stole the spotlight. Tobias Harris contributed 28 points, and Kelly Oubre Jr. added 16. No other Philadelphia’s player scored in double digits.

Maxey’s scoring spree included 17-of-27 from the field, 7-of-9 on 3-pointers, and a remarkable 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Lauri Markkanen’s 28 points and Collin Sexton’s 22 couldn’t lift the struggling Jazz, who suffered their third consecutive loss.

Jordan Clarkson contributed 16 points off the bench for Utah and John Collins added 15.
