As the NBA trade deadline draws near, the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly eyeing a potential deal with the Atlanta Hawks involving their coveted guard Dejounte Murray.

However, recent reports indicate that the Hawks might not be enthusiastic about acquiring D’Angelo Russell in the proposed trade.

NBA insider Shams Charania provides an insightful update on the Lakers’ pursuit of Murray. Despite challenges in reaching an agreement, the Lakers maintain a strong interest in adding the talented guard to their roster.

“Dejounte Murray is going to continue to emerge as the top target for the Lakers, from what I’m told…Another scenario to keep an eye on, players that the Lakers do have interest in I’m told, is three guys from the Nets: Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, Royce O’Neale,” Charania revealed on FanDuelTV’s Run It Back.

The 27-year-old guard is currently averaging an impressive 21.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 34.8 minutes per game, making him an attractive target for teams looking to bolster their backcourt.
