Here’s Orlando Magic point guard Markelle Fultz on taking the pressure off Paolo Banchero as a ball handler (averaging 3.3 APG since returning).

(via Bally Sports Florida):

Bo Outlaw: “So with you being back, I know you’re the point guard. And then when you’re not playing, you notice how Paolo has the ball so much. I think it’s important for you when you’re on the court that you have the ball, because you can get Paolo with a live dribble. Do you think it’s important for you to have the ball so you can see all your guys that are scorers just have a live dribble?”

Fultz: “Absolutely. We’re very interchangeable. I think that’s the strength of this team, we have multiple guys that can handle the ball. But I think I do a great job of making it easy for P, especially when guys are trying to double him and get him to pass it. I think for him to be able to catch the ball closer and be able to have somebody create for him is always going to make it better. And for him to do the same thing for everyone else, he’s a great playmaker. So there’s times where he needs to have the ball in his hands as well, and other people as well. Again, that’s what we like about this team, everyone’s knows that any given night it can be anybody with the ball in their hands and being able to create. But I’m always ready for that role and ready to get guys open shots.”
