Victor Wembanyama returned with a standout performance, scoring 24 points and securing eight rebounds, propelling the San Antonio Spurs (8-34) to a thrilling 131-127 victory over the Washington Wizards (7-34) on Saturday night.

Wembanyama, making a strong comeback after sitting out a game, played a pivotal role in the Spurs’ comeback from a 12-point deficit in the final five minutes.

Tre Jones contributed with 11 points, 12 assists, and eight rebounds, while Jeremy Sochan and Devin Vassell added 23 and 21 points, respectively.

Bilal Coulibaly, Wembanyama’s former teammate in France, contributed 14 points off the bench for the Wizards, while Delon Wright and Jordan Poole each added 16. Marvin Bagley led Washington with a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
