Rising star Victor Wembanyama showcased his prowess with a stellar performance, contributing 26 points and 11 rebounds, leading the San Antonio Spurs (7-30) to a resounding 135-99 victory over the Charlotte Hornets (8-28) on Friday night.

This victory marked the Spurs’ second consecutive win of the season, with Wembanyama’s exceptional display stealing the spotlight.

Doug McDermott contributed 14 points, Jeremy Sochan added 13, and Devin Vassell chipped in with 12 for the Spurs.

LaMelo Ball, making a comeback after a 20-game absence due to a right ankle sprain suffered on November 26, had an impactful return for the Hornets. Ball notched 28 points, complemented by five assists and five steals, showcasing his dynamic skill set.

San Antonio’s dominance allowed them to rest their starters for a significant portion of the final quarter, building a commanding 36-point lead.

Terry Rozier contributed 16 points for the Hornets, who are still dealing with absences, including Gordon Hayward (strained left calf), P.J. Washington (sprained right foot), and Mark Williams (bruised back).
