The NBA is in the process of formalizing arrangements to transform the 2024 NBA draft into a two-night affair. The proposal involves dividing the first and second rounds, and scheduling them on June 26th and 27th, respectively.

Final approval from the National Basketball Players Association is still pending for the league’s plan. Teams have expressed dissatisfaction with the hurried pace of the second round, and there is a belief that introducing a day between the picks could bring more structure to the process.

Traditionally held on Thursday evenings, the NBA draft’s potential adjustment would involve moving the first round to Wednesday and the second round to Thursday.
