The Detroit Pistons experienced their 28th consecutive loss, and this defeat stood out from the previous ones in this record-tying NBA losing streak.

Despite opening a 21-point lead against the top-ranked Boston Celtics, Detroit found themselves trailing by six points in the final minutes.

However, they managed to force overtime before the Celtics ultimately secured a 128-122 victory.

This game marked the first instance in the season where the Pistons held a lead exceeding 20 points and the first time they reached overtime since their last win two months ago.

“I’m unbelievably proud of the group, the way they bring it,” Pistons coach Monty Williams said. “They’ve heard all the stuff about our team and they just keep bringing it. I know it’s going to pay off.”
