PanathinaikosEuroleague favourites CSKA Moscow an Panathinaikos opened the new Euroleague season with convincing home wins. Defending champions hosted Armani Jeans in Moscow while PAO faced Zalgiris in OAKA. Trajan Langdon had 20 points for the winners.

CSKA won every quarter in the game and had a very solid lead at the half time. Ettore Messina's men left no doubt on who will finish the game celebrating.

Pape Sow and Jobey Thomas led Armani Jeans with 12 each. Final score CSKA Moscow 90-64 Armani Jeans.

In the other game Panathinaikos were looking for a good Euroleague start against Zalgiris. Lithuanian champions are still slowly recovering after the crisis. Although the new head coach Gintaras Krapikas promised a good fight, the view on the court was opposite to his promise.

Greek giants started strong and it looked like it will be one-sided game but Zalgiris managed to come back closer to 8 points at the half time.

Instead of a close fight in the second half, Panathinaikos rallied and finished the game in style with a big win 78-51.

Dimitris Diamantidis had 15 points and the new man Nikola Pekovic added 14 for Panathinaikos.

Loren Woods was the only player for Zalgiris to end the game in double digits as he score 17 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
