Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green found himself ejected during a game against the Phoenix Suns after hitting Jusuf Nurkic’s head with his arm, leading to a flagrant-2 call by game officials.

In the postgame press conference, Green clarified that his actions were an attempt to sell a foul rather than an intentional hit on Nurkic.

“He was pulling my hip, and I was swinging away to sell the call and made contact with him. As you know, I’m not one to apologize for things I meant to do, but I do apologize to Jusuf. I didn’t intend to hit him,” explained Green, as reported by Ben Golliver.

Green admitted that he saw a replay of the incident and that it didn’t look good. But he defended himself by saying that he didn’t think he was accurate enough “to do a full 360 and connect with someone.”

Green’s early exit coincided with the Warriors’ second consecutive loss, finishing the game with two points, two rebounds, and two assists.
