In a cringe-worthy wardrobe malfunction, the San Antonio Spurs faced embarrassment as they misspelled the last name of their rookie sensation, Victor Wembanyama, during a game against the Golden State Warriors.

On the French prodigy’s jersey, it read “Wembanyana” instead of the correct “Wembanyama,” echoing the pronunciation some NBA personalities use for the No. 1 pick’s last name.

The mistake was promptly noticed, and the jersey was swapped with the corrected version mid-game.

Post-game, Wembanyama expressed his disappointment, saying that he didn’t realize the error during the game.

“I didn’t, but it’s a real shame,” he said. “I don’t know if somebody got fired, but the Spurs did their job checking on my name. It’s a real shame.”

Despite the unfortunate error, Wembanyama showcased his talent with an impressive performance, amassing 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists in 35 minutes of play. However, the Spurs fell short against the Warriors.
