Orlando Magic’s General Manager, Anthony Parker, has drawn intriguing parallels between the team’s rising star, Paolo Banchero, and the legendary LeBron James, pointing out the striking similarities in their playing profiles.

Parker, speaking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, emphasized the shared characteristics of the two players, noting, “I think the profile is there.”

He highlighted the shared attribute of being “six-nine, six-ten jumbo-sized forwards that can be primary handlers within our offense.” Drawing a direct comparison, Parker sees Banchero in a role reminiscent of LeBron’s throughout his illustrious career.

The GM shed light on a fascinating observation, stating, “When people see or are up close with LeBron for the first time, they can’t believe how big he is, and that’s what I’ve heard with Paolo.”

The physical presence and stature of both players seem to leave a lasting impression, even surprising seasoned scouts upon their first encounters.

Banchero’s evolving game, Parker noted, “When you see Paolo, when he has the ball, he’s starting to understand just how strong and big he is and how that’s going to allow him to get to the spots.”

The Magic’s young star has been making significant strides, realizing the advantages of his size and strength on the court.

However, it’s not just the physical attributes that draw comparisons; Parker highlighted Paolo’s exceptional passing skills, likening them to LeBron’s, stating, “His vision and his ability to deliver the ball on time and on target is also a thing that’s very similar to what LeBron brought day one.”

At just 21 years old, the sophomore player is showcasing impressive stats, averaging 18.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 33.2 minutes per game this season.
