The Clippers are yet to find success since James Harden joined the team, prompting former All-Star Isaiah Thomas to recommend a change—Harden coming off the bench.

Thomas expressed on X that having Harden lead the second unit could preserve the first unit’s rhythm, allowing everyone to adapt to his style of play.

“JH should come off the bench. Let that first unit keep the rhythm & flow & get to it in the 2nd unit. Then later in the season maybe see if it works with the starters. Right now everybody playing like a shell of themselves cuz they tryna get use to his style of play,” Thomas tweeted.

While Harden has rarely come off the bench in his career, Thomas believes this adjustment might help the team regain its flow.

Harden’s Clippers tenure has seen him average a career-low 13.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 31.3 minutes per game.
