Chris Broussard crossed a line during Tuesday’s discussion, to the extent that he quickly retracted his statement.

While talking about the James Harden trade on “First Things First” on FS1, he unintentionally used an inappropriate word to characterize the latest addition to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The slip-up occurred during his debate with Nick Wright about Harden’s role in LA.

“Is the man ‘retarded’?” Broussard queried.

Wright quickly jumped in to admonish Broussard, saying, “You shouldn’t use that word, but sure.”

“Developmentally disabled,” Broussard corrected himself.

After that, Broussard persisted in emphasizing his argument about Harden’s misguided belief that the ex-Philadelphia 76er could maintain a nightly shot count of 25.

Wright was about to contribute his perspective on Harden, but Broussard interjected, swiftly apologizing for the earlier use of the inappropriate word.
