As the 2023-24 NBA season kicks off, Daryl Morey, the president of the Philadelphia 76ers, faces disappointment in his pursuit to fulfill James Harden’s trade request, with the Los Angeles Clippers standing firm in their refusal to include Terance Mann in the potential deal.

Despite Morey’s efforts to secure a favorable trade deal for the 33-year-old Harden, sources close to the negotiations suggest that his ambitions might not materialize as anticipated.

Steve Bulpett of Heavy.com highlights the challenging situation, quoting an informed source who emphasized the diminishing market value of Harden due to his recent performance, alongside the difficulty Morey faces in negotiating a favorable deal.

According to the source, Morey’s attempts to extract significant benefits in the trade are not finding traction among potential trade partners.

“Daryl’s trying to steal people in trades, and nobody’s going for it. First thing, Harden’s not the same guy he was three or four years ago, so his market’s not that great. And Morey’s trying to get so much, but he’s not going to get it,” the source said.
