TJ Parker has officially parted ways with ASVEL, and the team is actively seeking a new head coach. Speculations about Gordon Herbert and Sergio Scariolo being potential candidates have surfaced.

The decision to let go of Parker, brother of Tony Parker, was likely influenced by the team’s challenging start with a 0-4 record in the EuroLeague and a 4-3 record in the French Betclic Elite.

Per the press release: Following a below-expectations start to the season, the club’s management has made the decision to part ways with its coach, TJ.PARKER, with immediate effect. From this Sunday, the professional team will therefore be provisionally led by the duo of Jean-Christophe PRAT – Pierric POUPET.

Arriving at the club in 2013 as an assistant, TJ.PARKER built his experience by taking on the role of “lieutenant” with Pierre VINCENT, JD.JACKSON (2016 French champion) then Zvezdan MITROVIC (French champion and winner of the 2019 French Cup). Logically promoted to head coach in 2020, he experienced immediate success, winning all the trophies on the national scene (2021 and 2022 French champion, winner of the 2022 Coupe de France and winner of the 2023 Leaders Cup).

Always standing up to criticism, even the most unjustified, TJ.PARKER has demonstrated unfailing determination and commitment during these ten years spent within LDLC ASVEL. The entire club thanks him for his energy and loyalty throughout this long adventure and wishes him the best for the rest of his career.
