Facing a packed Zalgirio Arena, Zalgiris Kaunas spent most of the game trailing against Crvena Zvezda.

However, they showcased their brilliance when it mattered the most, orchestrating a comeback in the final period through impressive shooting.

In the end, they secured their second win of the season with a final score of 79-74.

Rolands Smits played a pivotal role in the victory, leading the team with 18 points and contributing six rebounds. Edgaras Ulanovas also made a significant impact, adding 15 points along with six boards and four assists.

Arnas Butkevicius, despite scoring only a single point before the last 10 minutes, managed to finish with 12 points and five rebounds.

Brady Manek found himself in a similar situation but stepped up in the crucial period, contributing eight points.

On the opposing side, Crvena Zvezda’s Luka Mitrović came close to achieving a double-double with 16 points and eight rebounds.

Milos Teodosic showcased an all-around performance with 15 points, four assists, and four rebounds. Shabazz Napier contributed nine points but struggled with a 1/10 shooting performance from the field.

“Congratulations to the fans, it’s great to play in such an arena. We won the match, but I am not satisfied with the game due to instability, control,” Zalgiris‘ coach Kazys Maksvytis said about the match.

“I think we played poorly in the third quarter, but we stayed in the game thanks to our effort and defense. In the end, we found the right targets, the right players and won the game.”
