Brooklyn Nets point guard Ben Simmons was asked about Cam Thomas’ development after Monday’s 129-126 preseason loss vs. the Los Angeles Lakers (26 points/2 rebounds/2 assists/9-14 FG/4-7 3-PT/4-4 FT).

Reporter: “We know Cam Thomas can score a lot, but just how impressed were you with him showing other areas of his game tonight?”
Simmons: “He’s grown tremendously over the past few months, just his IQ, the way he plays the game. I think he’s slowed down a little bit, taking the right shots, finding guys when they’re open. But at the same time you know he’s still being him, he’s able to get a bucket.”
Reporter: “Was it kinda fun seeing him and Austin [Reaves] go at it a little bit?”
Simmons: “I’ll take CT every time, though. He’s a different animal.”
