Payton Pritchard, the promising young guard for the Boston Celtics, recently signed a lucrative four-year, $30 million contract extension with the team.

The 25-year-old guard celebrated his new deal by delivering an impressive performance during the preseason debut, where he scored a team-high 26 points, along with 2 rebounds and 4 assists in just 23 minutes of play, helping secure a victory against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Speaking about his extension, Pritchard expressed his deep appreciation for the Celtics organization and the passionate fan base in Boston.

He described it as the best basketball city in the NBA, emphasizing the honor he feels to continue representing the storied franchise.

“This is the best basketball organization and city in the NBA. So it feels good,” he said, per Jared Weiss.

When asked about whether the new contract adds pressure, Pritchard revealed that it’s quite the opposite.

Instead of feeling the weight of expectations, he sees the extension as a relief and an opportunity to continue contributing to the team’s success.
