The Minnesota Timberwolves have added depth to their roster by signing 24-year-old guard/forward Tyrese Martin to a one-year deal, as confirmed by NBA insider Shams Charania.

Martin’s journey to the Timberwolves began when he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors as the 51st overall selection in the 2022 NBA draft. However, he found himself on the move shortly after, as he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks.

After signing his rookie scale contract with the Hawks on July 16, 2022, Martin began his NBA career. In the 2022-23 season, he made appearances in 16 games for the Hawks, averaging 1.3 points in 4.1 minutes per game.

Additionally, he spent time with the College Park Skyhawks, the Hawks’ G League affiliate, where he showcased his skills, averaging 18.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 33.0 minutes per game across 30 appearances.

Martin was waived by the Hawks on July 21, 2023. Now, he looks to make an impact with the Timberwolves and secure a regular-season spot during their upcoming training camp.
