Former NBA star Dwyane Wade opened up about the pivotal moment when he decided to reach out to LeBron James and bring him to the Miami Heat.

Wade’s inspiration? Kobe Bryant’s impressive back-to-back NBA championships with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010.

Reflecting on that period, Wade said, “That was our summer of free agency… Kobe was winning all these rings, and I was like, ‘Wait, hold on. Now he’s got 5, and we’ve got 1?'”

Wade’s decision to team up with James in Miami proved to be a game-changer for the Heat. With the addition of James, the franchise secured two NBA championships in just four years, solidifying their place among the league’s elite.
