In an exclusive interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on the final episode of Scoop B Selects, former Utah Jazz big man Antoine Carr lifted the veil on a notable incident involving NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal and Greg Ostertag.

Carr recounted the incident, stating, “Ostertag was just ‘letting him know’ that he played a good game against him and he was going to go at him again.”

However, O’Neal, known for his dominant presence on the court, did not take kindly to Ostertag’s words and reacted by backhanding him during a hallway encounter following practice.

Carr, who witnessed the altercation, described the scene, saying, “We were actually walking back from practice going through the back area to the locker room in the hallway, and that’s where ‘it’ happened. Did he fall down? Yeah. Did he get up? Yeah… eventually.”

When asked about Ostertag’s response to the incident, Carr revealed that he did not recall Ostertag retaliating. However, he noted that some of their teammates encouraged him to stand up for himself in the face of O’Neal’s aggression.
