France have been forced to make a change to their roster for Eurobasket after point guard Antoine Diot suffered a thigh injury during training.

Limoges guard Leo Westermann has taken his place, after reports that Thomas Heurtel would be joining the team in Montpellier, as Diot’s replacement.

But in a strange turn of events, it has been revealed that Heurtel’s club Anadolu Efes informed the French Basketball Federation [FBB] that they will not release the 26-year-old to international duties.

The reasoning behind Anadolu Efes’ denial are, at present, unclear.

The deadline for roster changes ahead of Eurobasket, which begins on Saturday afternoon, is today.
