The Celtics have added former Duke guard DJ Steward for their training camp. NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on Twitter/X, revealing that Steward, aged 21, has inked a training camp deal with Boston and will vie for a coveted two-way contract.

After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, Steward played for the Kings in 2021 NBA Summer League and then for Sacramento’s G League affiliate the Stockton Kings.

His most recent team was the Vancouver Bandits of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. Though his spell there was limited to just 2 games because the player opted to play for the 76ers in this year’s Summer League.

During the 2023 NBA Summer League, Steward averaged 16.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 17.9 minutes across five games. One standout performance saw Steward drop a staggering 36 points against the Pelicans.
