The entire Slovenian basketball community and Dallas Mavericks fans held their breath this Friday as Luka Doncic suffered a scary injury on their second-consecutive friendly matchup against Greece.

Doncic took a premature exit after colliding his knees with Emmanouil Chatzidakis during the second frame. But amid the anxiety that suddenly occurred from this, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported that there are “no concerns” around the superstar, and his early departure is just motivated by precautionary reasons.

The Mavericks sensation was barred from playing in the second half against the Greeks, but he was truly productive with an efficient 18 markers for over 13 minutes of play prior to leaving.

Meanwhile, Slovenia also had an unfortunate occurrence as Denver Nuggets forward Vlatko Cancar sustained a left knee injury after landing awkwardly from a coast-to-coast dunk. Yet according to teammate Jordan Morgan, the initial test for the big man has shown positive results.

Amid the respective injury of their two NBA cagers, Slovenia was able to square against Greece this time after their initial loss via 88-77 dub.

Slovenia can only be hopeful that both Doncic and Cancar would show promising signs of recovery as they still have Croatia up next on their tune-up games this Tuesday. The national squad will then proceed to Malaga for an exhibition with the United States (Aug. 11) and Spain (Aug. 12).
