Houston Rockets sophomore Jabari Smith Jr. remembers getting dominated by Giannis Antetokounmpo as his welcome to the league moment, but did get back at him on the defensive end in their second matchup.

(via Houston Rockets):

Jalen Green: “What was your welcome to the NBA moment?”

Smith Jr: “I’d say our third game, we played Milwaukee.”

Jalen Green: “I remember that.”

Smith Jr: “Man, we just came in there. We was tired. It was my first back-to-back. We in film, it said Giannis-Smith Jr., so that’s my matchup. So I’m like going into the game, ‘MVP.’”

Jalen Green: “I’m waiting for you to say what happened though.”

Smith Jr: “I mean he had 40. He was probably 16 for 16.”

Jalen Green: “Third game of the career, that was a tough one.”

Smith Jr: “Yeah, he fried us.”

Jalen Green: “What happened after that though when we came back to the crib?”

Smith Jr: “Oh, they came back to the crib. You feel me? I was ready. Luc (John Lucas II) had me hyped up. Luc was talking about it all week. You feel me? Had to lock in real quick. We got the dub, too. So that was smooth.”
