In a recent move, the Lakers have made the decision to waive Cole Swider, the 24-year-old forward who joined the team after going unselected in the 2022 NBA draft.

After inking a two-way contract with the Lakers on July 1, 2022, Swider split time with the South Bay Lakers, the team’s G League affiliate.

Making an appearance in the Lakers’ 2022 NBA Summer League roster, Swider had a chance to display potential and determination on the court. However, on July 26, 2023, the Lakers decided to part ways with the young forward, as reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Last season Swider appeared in 7 regular season games for the Lakers, averaging 1.3 points and 1 rebound in 5.9 minutes per game. He also played 27 games for the South Bay Lakers, averaging 17.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 28.7 minutes per game.
