The city of Memphis officially welcomes back a familiar face.

The Grizzlies franchise officially announced Monday that they have signed Derrick Rose to a two-year, minimum contract. The press release didn’t disclose the terms of the deal, but it was then reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that the veteran will earn a fully guaranteed $6.5 million on the pact.

Joining the Grizzlies serves as a full-circle moment for both Rose and Memphis. His partner posted the warm welcome made by the franchise to the former league MVP. It also appears that Rose will also wear jersey No. 23 to pay homage in his collegiate stint as a Memphis Tigers star.

Rose, who played his last 2 Ā½ seasons in the New York Knicks, is expected to scatter his rich experience and mentorship around the promising Memphis club most especially to franchise cornerstone Ja Morant.
