Kristaps Porzingis is now a Boston Celtic and plenty of team success is set to welcome him moving forward due to the team’s current contending state.

With that, there’s been speculation on how he can bring a significant contribution to the club; that despite his minimal postseason exposure, he can help the C’s to take the next step.

“I don’t know if I’ll be ready,” Porzingis said about his playoff-readiness for Boston, per MassLive’s Souichi Terada.

“Who knows? But, I’m gonna do everything I can to help this team. I just have a taste of it, right? I have a taste of it and I know what it’s like. And the first playoff series were really good, just didn’t have luck. And the second one was, it was a different style, a different kind.

“And each series is completely different, so I’m gonna have to be ready for any kind of scenario. And as the year goes along, we’re gonna, in the regular season, we’re going to find that rhythm. We’re going to find that chemistry and that’s gonna carry us into the playoffs.”

Throughout his career that started in 2015, Porzingis only appeared for 10 total postseason games. If compared to the Celtics’ 20 matches last playoffs, this is considerably low.

Amid the disparity, Boston is optimistic that he’ll provide more anchoring on their frontcourt. The Latvian star is slated to enjoy the prime stage of his basketball stint, and he also emerged healthy for the Washington Wizards last year wherein he posted 65 appearances.

“The work paid off for me,” Porzingis said of his last season campaign for Washington. “I looked at my game, I looked at how I could be more efficient and just really analyzed myself and it paid off last season, all the work I put in off the court to stay healthy. My body is maturing and getting to that age helped, and I believe I have some great, high-level years ahead of me.”
