The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to be in the mix of active suitors as the offseason market continues to get raucous this year.

Per Shams Charania and John Hollinger of The Athletic, the Wolves have engaged in conversations with the Washington Wizards about potentially acquiring either Monte Morris or Delon Wright as they are seeking to add depth at their floor general position behind Mike Conley Jr.

“League sources tell The Athletic that the Minnesota Timberwolves, looking for point guard depth behind Mike Conley, Jr., have engaged the Wizards in discussions about acquiring either veteran Monte Morris, Washington’s current starter at the point, or veteran Delon Wright, who again was one of the league’s better defensive guards last season after returning from an early-season hamstring pull.”

With the Wizards heading to a needed rebuild following the completion of the Bradley Beal era, they seem poised to pull their trigger and ship away the two upon acquiring Tyus Jones and Jordan Poole.

Morris, a steady point man, and facilitator, averaged 10.3 points and 5.3 assists for 62 games last year. The defensive-minded Wright, for his part, appeared in 50 games and registered 7.4 points and 3.9 assists.
