Miami Heat’s Victor Oladipo has exercised his $9.4 million player option for the 2023-24 season, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Oladipo signed a two-year deal with the Heat in last year’s offseason with the second year holding a player option.

As such, this can’t be more beneficial for him to further secure himself financially. He suffered from a torn patellar tendon in his left knee during the Heat’s first-round set against the Milwaukee Bucks that kept him for the entire postseason, and he eventually went for surgery – his third in over four years.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Miami has optimism that Oladipo will be back from continuing his basketball activities after a six-month recovery timeline. There was an initial concern that his availability for next season could be in jeopardy as a result of the horrible injury.

Oladipo played 42 regular season games for the Heat last 2022-23 and averaged 10.7 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 boards, and 1.4 assists.

A two-time All-Star for the Indiana Pacers, Oladipo has been in Miami since the middle of the 2020-21 season.
