Jarace Walker was one of those rookies that were drafted this year that were immediately traded to a different team. While he was picked by the Wizards at No. 8, it was known that he will be moved to the Pacers even before his name was called by Adam Silver.

The 19-year-old forward anticipated that Indiana would draft him at No. 7 and was surprised that the team drafted Bilal Coulibaly instead. However, he still ended up with the Pacers.

“Obviously my agent, just being in the loop with the teams, they were a little confused thinking that I would be picked at seven. Obviously I didn’t. I just feel like where I end up is where I’m supposed to be. So I guess it happened for a reason,” Walker said on SiriusXM NBA Radio, via David Yapkowitz of ClutchPoints.

Last season Walker averaged 11.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 27.6 minutes per game for the Houston Cougars.
