Bayern Munich has announced the appointment of seasoned Spanish coach Pablo Laso as their new head coach, following the departure of Andrea Trinchieri earlier in the offseason. Laso, who had been without a team during the 2022-2023 season due to health issues after leaving Real Madrid, signed a two-year contract that will keep him with Bayern until the summer of 2025.

Expressing his gratitude and excitement, Laso stated, “It is a great honor and I am happy to be in Munich. I would like to thank this large club for thinking of me now to write the next chapter of Bayern in EuroLeague and BBL. I am 100 percent committed and ready to help Bayern reach the next level of this exciting project.”

Laso brings a wealth of experience to Bayern, having led Real Madrid to notable success. Under his guidance, Real Madrid captured the EuroLeague championships in the 2014-15 and 2017-18 seasons, as well as numerous Spanish League championships, Spanish Cups, Spanish Supercups, and the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in 2015.

With Laso’s expertise and Bayern’s ambition, the team aims to elevate their performance and secure a spot in the EuroLeague playoffs, after missing out this season and finishing 15th. The appointment of Laso signals Bayern’s determination to pursue success in both EuroLeague and BBL competitions.
