It seems that the only person seriously supporting the addition of Kyrie Irving to the Lakers is LeBron James. The 38-year-old superstar who won one of his four NBA championships playing alongside Irving has been wanting Kyrie in LA for a while now.
“I would not like the message very much if I were on the Lakers or if I were in the front office,” anonymous NBA general manager said in regard to Irving attending two Lakers games in the playoffs, via Ashish Mathur of Heavy.com. “There’s not an overwhelming sentiment from them like, ‘We gotta go get Kyrie.’ It’s just LeBron.”
It remains to be seen whether the Purple and Gold will try to appease James and make a move to acquire Irving. Reportedly, the Mavericks are not interested in helping the Lakers get the point guard.
