The season ended for the Celtics with the loss in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat. Boston’s point guard Marcus Smart admits that his team was inconsistent this year, but is still proud of how the players fought.
“We had a lot of ups and downs this season,” Smart said. “Starting the season off with losing our coach and then getting a new one and we just continue to fight. Things weren’t always perfect for us, but we continue to compete.
“We were a little inconsistent this year, but I’m still proud of the way we fought. We just got to get better and we will. It happens. Like I said, you credit Miami for this one. They did a great job coming out executing at the right time and we didn’t.”
