FC Barcelona Lassa found a new point guard in Carlos Arroyo, who inked a one-year deal with his new team on Friday.

Arroyo (1.88 meters, 35 years old) has played for Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul in the last three seasons. He averaged 12.5 points and 4.3 assists in 15 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season.

Arroyo went on to play for Cangrejeros de Santurce, averaging 14.7 points and 6.5 assists in 39 Puerto Rican League games, leading his team to the finals. He has also played for Toronto, Denver, Utah, Detroit, Orlando, Miami and Boston of the NBA, Tau Ceramica Vitoria of Spain, Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel and Besiktas Istanbul of Turkey.

Arroyo led Galatasaray to the Turkish League title in 2013 and lifted three trophies with Besiktas – Turkish League, Turkish Cup and EuroChallenge – in 2012. He also won the Israeli League title with Maccabi in 2009 and three Puerto Rican League crowns with Santurce in 1998, 2000 and 2001.

Arroyo has also been a member of the Puerto Rican national team for more than 15 years and is a basketball legend in his country. He has helped Puerto Rico win as many as 12 medals in different competitions and lift six trophies – CentroBasket 2003, 2008 and 2010, the 2011 Pan American games, the 2007 FIBA CBC Championship and the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.

He also led Puerto Rico to defeat the United States at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Arroyo accumulated 778 points and 271 assists in 58 Euroleague career games with Vitoria, Maccabi and Galatasaray.
