The NBA is set to proclaim this season’s 2022-23 Most Valuable on Tuesday, 7 PM Eastern Time, on TNT.

One will emerge amongst the three finalists announced for the best individual award, such as Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Perceived by many as the frontrunner for the honors, Embiid powered the 76ers to a top-three Eastern Conference finish in the regular season (54-28) as he went on to average a league’s best 33.1 points to go with 10.2 boards and 4.2 assists in 66 games played.

The reigning back-to-back MVP, Jokic maintained his dominance for the third-straight year, averaging 24.5 points, 11.8 boards and 9.8 assists while shooting 63.2 percent from the field for 69 appearances. He led Denver to the best record in the West this year (53-29), the franchise’ first in its history.

Meanwhile, the Greek sensation in Antetokounmpo was the driving force of the Bucks’ top-seed finish throughout the league this 2022-23 campaign, leading the club to a 58-win season. He registered 31.1 points, 11.8 boards and 5.7 assists in 63 games.

The winner of the MVP award will accept a newly-minted trophy that features the great Michael Jordan, which was announced to be adopted by the league starting this 2022-23 season.
