Apparently, the Minnesota Timberwolves also went through a needed process of settling the past disastrous event of the organization by holding Kyle Anderson accountable for his unpleasant actions.

According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, after deciding that a sanction was a must for Gobert due to his sucker punching, the Wolves proceeded to still conduct talks with Anderson upon his role in the fracas.

“As disappointed as the Wolves were in Gobert’s act, there was some concern as they debated how to handle it that Rudy Gobert would be viewed as the lone culprit in the confrontation, team sources told The Athletic. When they looked at the situation in full, according to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, they knew Gobert had to be disciplined for his behavior. But there were also conversations behind the scenes about Anderson’s conduct toward a teammate who was trying to play through debilitating back spasms. Ultimately, Kyle Anderson was not punished. But there have been numerous conversations with him about the situation. Finch said he considered the case closed and felt confident the team was locked in on beating the Thunder.”

Krawczynski was also the one who reported that Anderson played a major role in the heated incident, wherein he pushed the French center to play on their eventual season-ender win against the New Orleans Pelicans amid ailing back spasms. And as the big man struggled in his play due to his condition, he called him “b—” multiple times – which ultimately triggered the scuffle on the sidelines.

Gobert already served his one-game suspension on the Wolves’ Play-In loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. He already made it clear that the past altercation with Anderson was already placed behind by the entire club as they refocus themselves to make their season still glowing.

The T-Wolves are now gearing up for their Friday do-or-die showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the right to advance to the playoffs. Albeit uncertain to play given his back issues, Gobert will certainly be there to support his team – and Anderson.
