(Detroit, MI)-The American Basketball Hall of Fame (ABHOF) announced its 4th and 5th Classes of 2022, and 2023 inductees on Friday at a press conference in Detroit, Michigan. The ABHOF is very happy to be back after two years off due to Covid-19. The Founder and ABHOF Hall of Famer LaMont “ShowBoat” Robinson indicated that its inaugural class was held in 2019 and classes of 2020 and 2021 were virtual ceremonies.    

The 2022 and 2023 classes are headed by some of the most well-known trailblazers in recent basketball history. From former NBA players like icon Isiah Thomas, Larry Johnson, and Dennis Hopson, to Harlem Globetrotter great Tyrone “Hollywood ” Brown, and analyst ESPN basketball analyst Dick Vitale these individuals paved the way for the current generation.

This year’s class also features two coaches that have made a tremendous impact on and off the court. From Michigan State University Tom Izzo and Oakland University Gary Kampe, each of these coaches has succeeded in molding young men into better basketball players and better people.

Other notable names that will be inducted are two playground icons Harlem’s New York City, Rucker’s flashy legendary point guard “Pee Wee” Kirkland, and Detroit’s Alvin “Bo” Dukes NBA players Earl Cuerton, Terry Mills, Grant Long, along with former women’s University of Cincinnati basketball.
