When the Clippers signed Russell Westbrook, the move was received by a fair share of scepticism. According to Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, the risk proved to be worth it.
“I thought it was a good gamble to take, to be honest with you,” Billups sad, via Mark Medina. “They are what they both needed at this time, if that makes sense. Russ needed somebody that was going to hug him.”
The Clippers are 10-10 with Westbrook on the roster. Los Angeles is close to clinching a playoff berth.
